Welcome to my website. You are here because you are looking for change. You are the key to your own success. Struggling is a feeling that is hard to just shrug off. We turn to our friends but when it gets to the point of feeling like we are "burdening" them, it's time to reach out for some help. It's common to feel anxious about turning to a professional for guidance, but know that you are doing something for yourself that can only better you and your life. Feeling empowered and on your way to a positive path to growth and well-being is a mutual goal. Getting help with the life issues that trouble you is needed from time to time and you are stronger for it!
As a client-centered therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and reach your goals together. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Letting go of old hurt is difficult and learning to deal with the new ones are even harder. Building a strong and engaging therapeutic relationship will enable change and lead you to feeling of empowerment, happiness and stronger relationships personally and professionally.
If you are seeking help for your child, know that they are going through something that they are finding challenging themselves. Often children, no matter the age, find it hard to communicate what they need either from you as their parent or from themselves. They are hardest on themselves though as parents we may not always see that. Children and adolscents can do amazing work when they know they are supported, connected and heard. Giving them short conrete plans works well and they see changes in their own behaviors and feel proud of themselves. Parents are incorporated into treatment as it is essential to make them more of a part of the child's life now than ever before. There is so much out there in today's world for children and adolescents to deal with: school pressures, social pressures, rise in divorce, etc. When they are struggling, you struggle. Psychotherapy can be helpful in reducing this stress and giving tools to use to make life at home better.
If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
